This policy explains what Best Cosmetology Programs does with information about the people who visit it. The short version is that this is a static reference site about state-licensed cosmetology schools. It has no accounts. Some pages include sponsored school listings and ZIP search forms provided by Esyoh.
What This Site Collects Automatically
Our hosting provider keeps standard request logs, which typically include:
- Your IP address, and the approximate region it resolves to
- The browser and operating system making the request
- The page requested, and the page that referred you to it
- The date and time of the request
Those logs exist to keep the site running and to identify abuse. We do not use them to build a profile of you, and we do not combine them with information from anywhere else.
What This Site Stores in Your Browser
When you use the light and dark toggle, your choice
is saved in local storage under the key theme so the site does not flash the wrong
colors on your next visit. It is not a cookie, it is never sent to us or to anyone else, and
clearing your browser data removes it.
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. The Google tag loads from Google’s servers and sends website usage information to Google.
We also use an analytics script hosted on Convex. It stores a randomly generated visitor identifier in local storage and a session identifier and activity timestamp in session storage. It sends these identifiers, page views, external link clicks, and interactions with embedded widgets to our Convex-hosted analytics endpoint. Page-view information includes the referring site, campaign parameters, screen size, browser language, and time zone. Link and widget events include the destination URL and link text or widget title. Clearing your browser data removes the stored identifiers.
Pages with sponsored school widgets load scripts and content from Esyoh. Those requests send
browser and network information to Esyoh, along with the current page URL, including a
visitor_zip parameter when present. The widgets also report advertising impressions
and interactions to the provider.
Entering your ZIP code in a school search submits it to Esyoh to find campus programs. Following a sponsored listing takes you to the provider or school. Review the privacy notice on that destination before submitting contact or enrollment information.
Information You Send Us by Email
Anything you send us arrives by email, because there is no contact form on this site. If you write to us we hold your message and your address for as long as it takes to deal with what you asked about, and we use it for nothing else. We do not add correspondents to a mailing list.
Who We Share Visitor Information With
Our hosting provider processes requests to serve the site. Esyoh receives the information described above when its widgets load or you use them. Google receives website usage information through the Google tag. Our Convex-hosted endpoint receives the analytics information described above. We may also disclose information when required under a valid legal process.
Our editorial school profiles link to institutions and official records. Sponsored listings use advertising links that let the provider attribute your visit. Information you submit through a provider or school form is handled under that form's privacy notice.
Privacy on Links to Schools and Other Sites
Every school on this site is linked to its own pages, its accreditor record, and where it exists its published outcome table. Following one of those links takes you onto a site we do not control and whose privacy practices are its own. Many university sites do run analytics and advertising trackers. Read their policies before you send them anything.
How Long We Keep Visitor Information
Retention follows purpose. Server logs are kept only as long as our host retains them for operational and security reasons. Email correspondence is kept while it is useful for handling your request and deleted when it is not, unless we are required to keep it for longer.

Your rights depend on where you live, and in several places, including the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and California, they include the following:
- Asking what personal information we hold about you
- Asking us to correct information that is wrong
